ANTICIPATED AUGUST 2020 RELEASES

Each month, we’ll be putting together a list of our top most anticipated releases; from romance, to sci-fi, to fantasy, and everything in between. These releases might be ones we’re counting down the days for or ones we’ve already read and want you to read (and love!), too.

What you do need to bear in mind is that living on different continents we have different release dates. So as a general rule there might be some repeats from one month to the next.. it’s not that we’re just being weird. Though we can’t dismiss that totally out of turn.

For August, our hotly anticipated titles, in chronological order, are :

HARROW THE NINTH is the hotly anticipated follow up to last year’s unexpected delight GIDEON THE NINTH by Tamsyn Muir. If you thought book one was all that.. just wait until August 4, 2020.

Does this book even need an excited introductory blurb? Probably not. MIDNIGHT SUN by Stephenie Meyer is out August 4, 2020.

Alert! We have a feminist space opera duology release this month with SEVEN DEVILS by Laura Lam & Elizabeth May. These two seasoned authors promise some goodness with this release on August 4, 2020.

THE BLACK KIDS by Christina Hammonds Reed is a blast back into retro 1992 LA while the city burns from riots and a rich, black girl’s life gets turned on it’s head. This book also hits the shelves on August 4, 2020.

If you’re looking for some chronic illness rep in YA, EVERY LITTLE PIECE OF MY HEART by Non Pratt aims to deliver. This is a contemporary YA with friendships and some underlying romance, it releases on August 6, 2020.

DEAR EMMIE BLUE by Lia Louis is one of the most endearing and slowly heart-breaking contemporaries to hit our shelves in a while. Already out in the US, this gorgeous book hits the UK on August 6, 2020.

We’ve got a LGBTQIA+ debut for you with BOY QUEEN by George Lester. This finding yourself story also finds the protagonist on the runway. Check this out on August 6, 2020.

BLOODBORN PRINCE by Laura Lascarso is book two in the Mortal and Divine series which is a paranormal fantasy that is very much adult, erotic fiction. It contains violence and moral ambiguity and if you’re keen to try this m/m romance, book one, BOOK OF ORLANDO, might still be on sale. Grab it while you can! Book two is out August 7, 2020.

THE MIDNIGHT LIBRARY by Matt Haig is a gripping wander into a fictional and fantasy purgatory with strong mental health themes. This book is all advocacy and own voices understanding and it releases on August 13, 2020.

THE FAITHLESS HAWK by Margaret Owen is the conclusion to The Merciful Crow duology which, hey, can we get a round of applause for a duology that actually remains a duology without being extended? This series has so much excellence going for it (though mind you, trigger warnings for plague — because it’s 2020 and we can’t have nice things) and we can’t wait for whatever this author will come out with next. You can get your beaks on this finale on August 18, 2020.

Topping both our lists for We Must Has It is EMERALD BLAZE by Ilona Andrews, which is the follow up to SAPPHIRE FLAMES, which kicked off the continuation of the Hidden Legacy series and now follows one of the original protagonists’ sister on her many magical adventures. It’s true that we’re big IA trash in this bloghold (it’s a household but for blogs) but after how the last book ended? We are definitely going to be refreshing our kindles on August 25, 2020.

THE SUGARED GAME by KJ Charles is book two in the Will Darling Adventures trilogy which is historical mystery series with an m/m romance and honestly if you stopped reading after seeing KJ Charles? We wouldn’t blame you. Want, need, yes. What is sure to be yet another delight from this author is out Auguts 26, 2020.

ANTICIPATED JUNE 2020 RELEASES

Each month, we’ll be putting together a list of our top most anticipated releases; from romance, to sci-fi, to fantasy, and everything in between. These releases might be ones we’re counting down the days for or ones we’ve already read and want you to read (and love!), too.

What you do need to bear in mind is that living on different continents we have different release dates. So as a general rule there might be some repeats from one month to the next.. it’s not that we’re just being weird. Though we can’t dismiss that totally out of turn.

THE COURT OF MIRACLES by Kester Grant is a Les Mis reimagining that is everything unique and special. It has a historical/fantasy feel with a YA context and everything about this release has me excited. Out on June 4, 2020, this is one of Micky’s top reads this year so go for it.

JUST FRIENDS by Holly McCulloch is a rom-com about being in the friend zone and trying to date when your friend is always around. It sounds hilarious, fun and it released on June 11, 2020.

AIX MARKS THE SPOT by SE Anderson releases on June 16, 2020 and it is a French adventure and coming of age story. Frankly, it’s the perfect YA summer read with the cutest vibes.

TAKE A HINT, DANI BROWN is the second book in The Brown Sisters series by Talia Hibbert. This cheerfully bright cover will be landing on kindles, and out for delivery in paperback, on June 23, 2020, and we can’t wait for swoons, hilarity, and everything else it brings.

TWO ROGUES MAKE A RIGHT is the third book in Cat Sebastian’s m/m historical romance Seducing the Sedgwicks series. This story, which will likely be delightful and is highly anticipated by us, is out June 23, 2020.

ANTICIPATED MAY 2020 RELEASES

Each month, we’ll be putting together a list of our top most anticipated releases; from romance, to sci-fi, to fantasy, and everything in between. These releases might be ones we’re counting down the days for or ones we’ve already read and want you to read (and love!), too.

What you do need to bear in mind is that living on different continents we have different release dates. So as a general rule there might be some repeats from one month to the next.. it’s not that we’re just being weird. Though we can’t dismiss that totally out of turn.

For May, our hotly anticipated titles, in chronological order, are :

NETWORK EFFECT by Martha Wells is the fifth book, but first full-length release, in this series about an AI who calls themselves Murderbot and, somehow, despite how they would rather just watch soap operas, has to constantly save a bunch of humans. Woe. Not much time to catch up in the first four novellas but, being novellas, you can definitely crush them quickly. Then get your hands on Moar Murderbot on May 5, 2020.

AURORA BURNING by Amie Kaufman and Jay Kristoff is the sequel to this duo’s newest series, following AURORA RISING, and the squad of misfits that, somehow, have to save the galaxy. Find out how that goes for them on May 5, 2020.

CLAP WHEN YOU LAND by Elizabeth Acevedo is a story of two girls approaching adulthood, in two different places and cultures. They are brought together by a plane crash and much more that they have in common. With Acevedo’s amazing prose, this is one you cannot miss and it’s out on May 5, 2020.

THE GRAVITY OF US by Phil Stamper is a coming of age YA in the backdrop of two teens who’s parents are involved in a mission to Mars. This LGBTQ+ romance sounds so good and it releases (in the UK) on May 14, 2020.

BEACH READ by Emily Henry, a story about two authors from very different genres struggling with writers block, has been getting so much buzz (and rightly so!). You’ll definitely want to get your hands on this funny, emotional, delightful, romance; and you can do so on May 19, 2020. This is out in July for the UK.

HIDEAWAY by Nora Roberts is a romantic suspense with a main character who is a survivor of a kidnapping. Her adulthood and childhood begin to catch up with each other in this book that sounds absolutely gripping. HIDEAWAY releases on May 30, 2020.

ANTICIPATED APRIL 2020 RELEASES

Each month, we’ll be putting together a list of our top most anticipated releases; from romance, to sci-fi, to fantasy, and everything in between. These releases might be ones we’re counting down the days for or ones we’ve already read and want you to read (and love!), too.

What you do need to bear in mind is that living on different continents we have different release dates. So as a general rule there might be some repeats from one month to the next.. it’s not that we’re just being weird. Though we can’t dismiss that totally out of turn.

For April, our hotly anticipated titles, in chronological order, are :

If you like the chosen one trope, the CHOSEN ONES by Veronica Roth takes a flawed slant on this idea. This is an adult fantasy and the characters were a bunch of chosen ones after saving the world. It is out on April 7, 2020

RULES FOR BEING A GIRL by Candace Bushell & Katie Contungo is out on April 7, 2020. Through a high school story, this book explores the experience of grooming and sexual exploitation in a way that is not for the feint of heart. It isn’t graphic but the perpetrators and characters surrounding the protagonist are infuriating. An important read for young adults.

EMPIRE OF DREAMS by Rae Carson is a highly anticipated, though mostly unexpected, addition to the Girl of Fire and Thorns series. This is a standalone that I don’t think anyone expected and you can dive face first back into this world on April 7, 2020.

RUTHLESS GODS by Emily A Duncan is the sequel to the dark bloody WICKED SAINTS and continues being dark and bloody and twisty. You can get your hands on this one on April 7, 2020.

YOU DESERVE EACH OTHER by Sarah Hogle is a strange twist on a hate to love featuring a couple that is already engaged to be married. Say what? You can find out all about it on April 7, 2020.

THE HAPPY EVER AFTER PLAYLIST by Abby Jimenez is a book we’re sure everyone who read THE FRIEND ZONE is going to pick up. This book follows one of the side characters from the author’s debut and, if you know what happened, you know it’ll feature a heaping portion of emotions and feels and.. more. Find out how much more, and what that means, on April 14, 2020.

TIME OF OUR LIVES by Emily Wibberley and Austin Siegemund-Broka is “a reflective, romantic coming-of-age novel that explores life after high school–perfect for fans of Fangirl and Emergency Contact.” Out April 21, 2020.

GIRL GONE VIRAL by Alisha Rai was a cute, second in the series. This book focuses on Katrina who lays low in life generally but a supposed meet-cute goes viral and exposes her to nefarious interest. There’s a bodyguard Jas and its a fun story. This one is out on April 21, 2020

THE GIRL AND THE STARS by Mark Lawrence releases on April 21, 2020. It is the first in a new series but set in the world of The Book of the Ancestor series (yet different environment). Micky will be reviewing this one.

Q is the highly anticipated next offering by Christina Dalcher and it releases on April 30, 2020. It isn’t related to Vox but it tackles another dystopian earth, similar but slightly removed from our own. In this book, it is intellect that is central to everything, the Q (IQ) decides your rank in life and the impact is creepily scary.

ANTICIPATED MARCH 2020 RELEASES

Each month, we’ll be putting together a list of our top most anticipated releases; from romance, to sci-fi, to fantasy, and everything in between. These releases might be ones we’re counting down the days for or ones we’ve already read and want you to read (and love!), too.

What you do need to bear in mind is that living on different continents we have different release dates. So as a general rule there might be some repeats from one month to the next.. it’s not that we’re just being weird. Though we can’t dismiss that totally out of turn.

For March, our hotly anticipated titles, in chronological order, are :

The fourth book in Charlie Adhara’s Big Bad Wolf series, WOLF IN SHEEP’S CLOTHING, is out March 2, 2020. This is an m/m paranormal shifter detective series and one that definitely needs more love.

ONLY MOSTLY DEVASTATED by Sophie Gonzales is a highly anticipated debut. This YA is pitched as a queer Grease retelling, with shades of Clueless thrown in to the mix, and an adorable cover, to boot, and is out March 3, 2020.

We’re sure we don’t need to tell you that March 3, 2020, is the day HOUSE OF EARTH AND BLOOD, the first in Sarah J Maas’ new adult series, releases. Or do we? No, probably not.

Another huge release we probably don’t need to remind you of is CHAIN OF GOLD by Cassandra Clare. This is the first in a new trilogy set in Edwardian London, following the events of the Infernal Devices series, and this is also out March 3, 2020.

And yet another exciting release for March 3, 2020, is THE MIDNIGHT LIE by Marie Rutkoski. Not only is this a spinoff series set in the same world as The Winner’s Curse but it’s the author’s first release since the end of the aforementioned series.

With a strapline of standalone paranormal romance, KISS OF VENGEANCE by Samantha Young is actually the second in a series but is clearly only interconnected to book one rather than a continuation. Expect wolves, vampires and immortality on its release date of March 3, 2020.

AND THE STARS WERE SHINING BRIGHTLY by Danielle Jawando is a highly anticipated debut from a British YA voice. Dealing with tough subjects of suicide and bullying this novel sounds hopeful and rich. It is out on March 5, 2020 and Micky wants to scream from the rooftops about this one.

THE RICH BOY by Kylie Scott is a standalone contemporary romance out on March 9, 2020. The blurb sounds appealing with a work place situation, a guy who loves Austen and complications of the rich. Sign us up!

UNDERCOVER BROMANCE is the second in Lyssa Kay Adam’s Bromance Book Club series about men who read romance to woo, or win back, their lady loves. This one features a character who I think got a lot of love from readers in book one. UNDERCOVER BROMANCE is out March 10, 2020.

THE HOUSE IN THE CERULEAN SEA by T.J. Klune is enchanting, melancholy, heartbreaking, wonderful, delightful.. honestly, Hollis could go on just rattling off words to describe it, but this queer fantasy needs to be on your TBR for sure. You’ll be able to get your hands on it as of March 17, 2020.

THE ELECTRIC HEIR is the follow up to Victoria Lee’s THE FEVER KING and you can get it March 17, 2020.

IF I NEVER MET YOU by Mhairi McFarlane, author of one of Hollis’ top reads of 2019, is out March 24, 2020. This is an opposites attract/fake dating/office romance and yeah, that sounds amazing, but honestly, no matter what the topic, this author should be on everyone’s radar.

THORN by Intisar Khanani is a retelling inspired by the Brothers Grimm Goose Girl. This story sounds like a mix of royalty, power struggles and switched identity. With that blurb and gorgeous cover, there will be no resistane on its release on March 24, 2020.

ANTICIPATED FEBRUARY 2020 RELEASES

Each month, we’ll be putting together a list of our top most anticipated releases; from romance, to sci-fi, to fantasy, and everything in between. These releases might be ones we’re counting down the days for or ones we’ve already read and want you to read (and love!), too.

What you do need to bear in mind is that living on different continents we have different release dates. So as a general rule there might be some repeats from one month to the next.. it’s not that we’re just being weird. Though we can’t dismiss that totally out of turn.

For February, our hotly anticipated titles, in chronological order, are :

AN EVERYDAY HERO by Laura Trentham is the second in her Heart of a Hero series. This is a complete standalone and with unconnected characters from book one but it was a fantastic continuation of the theme of soldiers now home, learning to live life as a civilian again. This great military romance releases on February 4, 2020.

YES NO MAYBE SO by Becky Albertalli and Aisha Saaed is a politically immersed YA set around elections, canvassing and has a real feel of current climates. The main characters are Muslim and Jewish with lots of cuteness thrown in. It releases on February 4, 2020 and we have a review in the pipeline for this.

THE KING OF CROWS is the fourth book in the Diviners series by Libba Bray. We don’t even want to post the synopsis of this one, being the final in a series, but we know this is much anticipated and fans have been (im)patiently waiting for this conclusion. Grabby hands can get grabby on February 4, 2020.

If you are ready for a retelling with a fresh take then look no further than THE STARS WE STEAL by Alexa Donne. This book is a twist on Persuasion, set in space and with a fleet of ships. There’s royalty, crime and love on the menu and this also releases on February 4, 2020.

GROWN UPS by Marian Keyes is a family-centric tale with relatable drama told in that special, funny way that only this author can. Expect the serious along with the funny and you won’t be disappointed in this women’s fiction offering. Grown Ups releases on February 6, 2020.

This YA contemporary sneaked along with some unique themes. WHAT KIND OF GIRL by Alyssa B Sheinmel addresses the issue of dating abuse in this age group. It was a compelling read and Micky really found it enjoyable despite the subject area. If you enjoy a serious YA, then check out this release on February 6, 2020.

THE MERCIES by Kiran Millwood Hargrave is a historical and fantastical tale set in Norway in the 1600s. This is a story about feminism, oppression and a literal witch hunt. We couldn’t be more excited for it on February 6, 2020.

BOOK OF ORLANDO by Laura Lascarso is the first in a paranormal trilogy about angels, devils, and so much more. It’s a little dark, a whole lot queer, and hot as hell. You definitely need this one on your radar and on February 7, 2020, you can get it on your kindle, too!

ANTICIPATED JANUARY 2020 RELEASES

Each month, we’ll be putting together a list of our top most anticipated releases; from romance, to sci-fi, to fantasy, and everything in between. These releases might be ones we’re counting down the days for or ones we’ve already read and want you to read (and love!), too.

What you do need to bear in mind is that living on different continents we have different release dates. So as a general rule there might be some repeats from one month to the next.. it’s not that we’re just being weird. Though we can’t dismiss that totally out of turn.

For January, our hotly anticipated titles, in chronological order, are :

If you’re missing the vibes from To All The Boys I Loved Before series, then LOVEBOAT, TAIPEI by Abigail Hing Wen has something to offer to fill that hole. It’s definitely more mature and set in Taipei. The Taiwanese summer camp makes for a memorable read but amidst the fun there are some serious topics. Micky will have a review coming for this. It’s out on January 7, 2020 and it is also the first in a series.

JANE ANONYMOUS by Laurie Faria Stolarz is a most unusual contemporary YA that features a kidnapping of a teen and life afterwards as she tries to reintegrate into society. If you seek tension and a thriller ride, this should be a compelling read. It releases on January 7, 2020.

TOUGH GUY by Rachel Reid is book three in the author’s Game Changers series. HEATED RIVALRY, book two, was one of Hollis’ favourite reads of 2019. This particular match up isn’t a coming out story and, like book one, features a hockey player and a non-hockey player romance. Look for this one out January 13, 2020, and stay turned for a review from the blog!

LUCKY CALLER by Emma Mills is a much anticipated release for anyone who loves Millsy. This release heralds a change in format for the author’s covers, and she’s since revamped all her releases, but nevermind the packaging, what about the insides? You can find out about those on January 14, 2020, and expect another review from us.

LOVE HER OR LOSE HER by Tessa Bailey is book two in her Hot and Hammered series. Neither of us loved book one, FIX HER UP, but this one surprised and delighted us both! We’ll also have a review for this one but keep an eye out on this one if you either loved or didn’t love book one. We think this’ll work for you either way! You can pick it up on January 14, 2020.

If you know either of us at all, you know we are huge Lucy Parker fans. So colour us happy as piglets in shit (sorry, Micky) when we got news there was more to come for her London Celebrities series. HEADLINERS was a huge hit for us and we hope you’ll love it, too. It comes out on January 20, 2020, and you know there’ll be a review coming your way.

TWEET CUTE by Emma Lord is a YA contemporary debut and oh man was it charming, full of feels, snark, and cheese. Literal cheese of the grilled variety. We’re on the blog tour for this one and we’ll have a review for you, too. Twice the love because this book was so great. You can fall in love with it, too, on January 21, 2020.

WHITEOUT by Adriana Anders has Micky shouting from the antarctic about this grumpy male researcher and peppy chef stranded and in a dangerous set of circumstances. If you enjoy a romantic suspense, like the idea of antarctic context and a chase across the white stuff (you should all be shouting yes to this), then do not fear, January 28, 2020 will sort you out.

ANTICIPATED DECEMBER 2019 RELEASES

Each month, we’ll be putting together a list of our top most anticipated releases; from romance, to sci-fi, to fantasy, and everything in between. These releases might be ones we’re counting down the days for or ones we’ve already read and want you to read (and love!), too.

What you do need to bear in mind is that living on different continents we have different release dates. So as a general rule there might be some repeats from one month to the next.. it’s not that we’re just being weird. Though we can’t dismiss that totally out of turn.

For December, our hotly anticipated titles, in chronological order, are :

BLITZED by Alexa Martin is the third book in the Playbook series and all these characters are interconnected but still allow the books to standalone. Told from a female pov, involving a footballer, this sounds like a kind-of second chance at meeting but with no previous dating. It sounds cute, sexy and fun and is out on the 3rd.

Also out on the 3rd is the highly anticipated second book, CHILDREN OF VIRTUE AND VENGEANCE by Toni Adeyemi. Neither of us have started this series (yet) but we know it has many fans that have invested in the magical world of Orisha.

If you’re after a bit of an angsty contemporary romance, REGRETTING YOU by Colleen Hoover might be up your reading street. Out on the 10th, this story takes two generations of inter-related characters, twists them up and throws them into a shaker and spills them out. It’s a bit of a ride and Micky will be reviewing this for the blog.

A SCARCITY OF CONDORS by Suanne Laqueur is the third book in her Venery series and highly anticipated by both of us. Concentrating on the events and legacy of the military coup in Chile, told through families and relationships, this promises to break our hearts and make us feel. We are here for this on the 16th December!

THE WIVES by Tarryn Fisher seems to be a polygamous story of three wives who don’t meet one another…but this is a Tarryn Fisher story and of course the blurb promises that there is much more than this to the tale. Its classed as a thriller, so we are looking forward to her brand of crazy on 16th.

LOVE LETTERING by Kate Clayborn opens up with some an intriguing beginning that when the NetGalley ARC turned out to be an excerpt.. I may have wailed a bit. A biiiit. But I was lucky enough to get a full ARC of this shortly after and oh man. You need this book in your life. Opposites attract, fonts, whimsy, a nerdy socially awkward hero.. if you aren’t already a fan of Clayborn (which, like, what), you need to put this on your radar now. LOVE LETTERING is out December 31, 2019, and what a way to end the year!

THE ONE FOR YOU by Roni Loren is the final book in The Ones Who Got Away series that is set in a backdrop of the aftermath (a decade later) of a highschool shooting. Both of us have followed this series of interconnected characters and we are here for the finale featuring Kincaid and Ashton.

ANTICIPATED NOVEMBER 2019 RELEASES

Each month, we’ll be putting together a list of our top most anticipated releases; from romance, to sci-fi, to fantasy, and everything in between. These releases might be ones we’re counting down the days for or ones we’ve already read and want you to read (and love!), too.

What you do need to bear in mind is that living on different continents we have different release dates. So as a general rule there might be some repeats from one month to the next.. it’s not that we’re just being weird. Though we can’t dismiss that totally out of turn.

For November, our hotly anticipated titles, in chronological order, are :

BEARD NECESSITIES by Penny Reid marks the final (!) Winston Brothers‘ book. Or does it? Right now there are a million spinoffs from the Smartypants Romance imprint for the universe but from Reid herself? I think this might be it. And also, hey, little known fact : it’s also Billy and Claire’s story. The real story. Not a prequel. The. Story. Our bodies are ready. BEARD NECESSITIES is out November 4, 2019.

[insert ‘it’s been eight-four years’ gif here] THE STARLESS SEA by Erin Morgenstern is the author’s sophomore release eight (!) years since THE NIGHT CIRCUS entered our lives. We would’ve been clamouring for this book, desperate for it, no matter what the plot. And as for said plot, do we really even know what it’s about, beyond books and doorways and.. maybe bees? Nope. Gimme. THE STARLESS SEA is out November 5, 2019.

THE BROMANCE BOOKCLUB by Lyssa Kay Adams has a hilarious premise. Gavin seeks support from a secret romance book club run and attended by men in an attempt to save his marriage and revive his sex life. Out on November 5, 2019, who’s in the queue for this one?

CALL DOWN THE HAWK by Maggie Stiefvater is the much anticipated spinoff of the author’s Raven Cycle series which we are super pumped about. Not just because this is Ronan-centric. But because it’s more of this world. We can’t wait to reunite with both Ronan and other familiar faces but also be treated to something very different. CALL DOWN THE HAWK is out November 5, 2019.

THE TOLL by Neal Shusterman is the final book in a series that.. neither of us have read. But have we been convinced to read it by hearing about everyone else’s excitement? Yes. THE TOLL is out November 5, 2019.

DEADLY LITTLE SCANDALS by Jennifer Lynn Barnes is the sequel (second installment?) to the author’s Debutantes series. This is a YA series that, well, has a lot of scandals. Also debutantes. If you liked Pretty Little Liars, you’ll love this series. And even if you don’t (we’ve never watched the show), you’ll still like it. This one is also out November 5, 2019.

GET A LIFE, CHLOE BROWN by Talia Hibbert is a story you’re going to want to pick up the moment it releases which, you guessed it, is on November 5, 2019. The heroine in this book is fat, chronically ill, and trying to spice up her life so she doesn’t die whilst being boring. The key to help spice things up? The landlord in her complex who may or may not be a soft boy but also not without his own sharp edges, too. Not only does this sound amazing but it’s also the start of a new series!

SUPERNOVA by Marissa Meyer is the final book in the Renegades series. While typing this we struggled to remember what happened in book two and then, after consulting GR, realized we never read it. Whoops. Guess we’ll be playing catch-up but we do enjoy this twist on the typical superhero trope. SUPERNOVA is out November 5, 2019.

Neither of us have read THE WICKED DEEP, Shea Earnshaw’s debut novel, however, after seeing WINTERWOOD described as, “a haunting romance set deep in the magical snow-covered forest, where the appearance of a mysterious boy unearths secrets that awakens the enchanted, but angry, woods.” We were sold. WINTERWOOD is out November 5, 2019.

THE HOW & THE WHY by Cynthia Hand is a story told in dual perspectives alternating between a pregnant teen mother giving her child up for adoption and the child looking to discover where she came from. This sounds like it’ll wreck us and we are here for it. THE HOW AND THE WHY is out November 5, 2019.

GIRLS OF STORM AND SHADOW by Natasha Ngan is the second in this F/F fantasy trilogy. Lei and Wren are traveling rebel clans to gain support after the crescendo of an ending to book one. Exciting! And it’s out on November 5, 2019.

We doubt we need to remind anyone that THE QUEEN OF NOTHING by Holly Black, the conclusion to The Folk of the Air series, is out November 19, 2019. Does anything else even need to be said about this? Nope.

BLOOD HEIR by Amélie Wen Zhao had a bit of a hiccup earlier this year leading up to prepublication and ended up getting pulled for further edits (or so the story goes). But now it’s back and it’s coming to a bookstore near you on November 19, 2019. We don’t know about you but we are excited this story has had a chance to live another day. Can’t wait to read it.

There’s a flurry of releases on November 19, 2019 and OUTMATCHED by Samantha Young and Kristen Callihan is the author coupling of our dreams. This is a story of a boxer and geek…tell me more you say? This is an opposites attract story and we’re looking forward to seeing where it goes.

ANTICIPATED OCTOBER 2019 RELEASES

Each month, we’ll be putting together a list of our top most anticipated releases; from romance, to sci-fi, to fantasy, and everything in between. These releases might be ones we’re counting down the days for or ones we’ve already read and want you to read (and love!), too.

What you do need to bear in mind is that living on different continents we have different release dates. So as a general rule there might be some repeats from one month to the next.. it’s not that we’re just being weird. Though we can’t dismiss that totally out of turn.

For October, our hotly anticipated titles, in chronological order, are :

WAR OF HEARTS by S Young is a return to paranormal romance for Samantha Young after quite a long time period staying in the contemporary romance zone. It has shifters, vampires, fae and other worldly beings and it is out on October 1, 2019

REBEL by Marie Lu, the new and unexpected addition to the Legend series.. is also the final final book. This time we live through Eden’s perspective, the younger brother of Day, and how they are coping in the aftermath of CHAMPION. REBEL is out October 1, 2019.

CRIER’S WAR by Nina Varela is a f/f fantasy duology between a human girl and one who was Made. This is so many of my favourite things and I can’t wait! This is yet another October 1, 2019, release.

The giant hype for NINTH HOUSE will have October 8, 2019, on many readers’ calendars so I’m sure we don’t need to remind you of Leigh Bardugo’s newest! Look Hollis’ four-star review on the blog.

THE GRACE YEAR by Kim Liggett is, “a speculative thriller in the vein of The Handmaid’s Tale and The Power.” Micky and Hollis are both reviewing this, so stay tuned. And speaking of tuned, this title has already been optioned for film! How exciting. If you can’t wait for the film, you can read the book on October 8, 2019.

Alexandra Christo has her second book coming out this month and INTO THE CROOKED PLACE promises to be a story with a host of characters, crooks and a quest. Out on the October 8, 2019, we’re looking forward to this first in a series.

Another majorly hyped release is also out October 8, 2019, and that’s THE BEAUTIFUL by Renée Ahdieh. This historical fantasy, featuring vampires and more, will also be getting a double review from us.

JACKPOT by Nic Stone is a story about class, money and lottery winning ticket. If this is anything in the vein of Dear Martin, I want in. Micky will have a review coming for this book around the release date of October 15, 2019.

The ever prolific romance writer duo, Christina Lauren is back with yet another offering! On October 22, 2019, TWICE IN A BLUE MOON releases, a contemporary second-chance romance. Hollis will be reviewing this for the blog and hopes to love it as much as JOSH AND HAZEL’S GUIDE TO NOT DATING.
