MONTHLY WRAP UP – JUNE 2020

To close out each month, we’ll be posting a break down of everything we reviewed, beginning with the reads we loved.. and ending with the reads we didn’t. Not only does this compile all our reviews in one handy summary for you to peruse, or catch up on, it also gives us an interesting birds eye view of the month and our reads. And maybe, even, our moods.

NEW RELEASE TUESDAY – JUNE 30, 2020

Happy “where’d all my money go?” new release Tuesday, everyone!

As you know, the most exciting day of the week in this community is the day that follows the one we all dread (Mondays for the nope) and today we’re going to highlight some of the new books chipping away at our bank accounts — but each one is so worth it.

TRUEL1F3 is the final book in Jay Kristoff’s Lifelike series which I think only one of us have started but hey, it counts.

DARING AND THE DUKE is the third book in Sarah MacLean’s Bareknuckle Bastards series and like a another final book in a previous series of hers, this one is going to need some serious grovel and explanation to win us over to this particular match-up. We are both excited and afraid to experience it.

NEW RELEASE TUESDAY – JUNE 23, 2020

Happy “where’d all my money go?” new release Tuesday, everyone!

As you know, the most exciting day of the week in this community is the day that follows the one we all dread (Mondays for the nope) and today we’re going to highlight some of the new books chipping away at our bank accounts — but each one is so worth it.

TWO ROGUES MAKE A RIGHT is the third book in Cat Sebastian’s Seducing the Sedgwicks series and a story much anticipated by us since reading IT TAKES TWO TO TUMBLE.

TAKE A HINT, DANI BROWN is the second book in The Brown Sisters series, following up last year’s smash GET A LIFE, CHLOE BROWN by Talia Hibbert. We haven’t stopped being shouty about the former and fully expect to be shouty about the second for ages, too. Also, that cover? Instant cheerful happiness. Starting a trend, as you’ll see, our review is clickable here.

WIRE WINGS by Wren Handman is a YA sci-fi set in the not-so-distance future that focuses on identity, grief, and love. Check out our review here.

A MADNESS MOST DISCREET by Laura Lascarso is a sorta mash-up of a queer Sex and the City but with an HBO platform and this beauty popped into the world on Saturday so you should definitely be one-clicking! Check out our review here.

NEW RELEASE TUESDAY – JUNE 16, 2020

As you know, the most exciting day of the week in this community is the day that follows the one we all dread (Mondays for the nope) and today we’re going to highlight some of the new books chipping away at our bank accounts — but each one is so worth it.

CARRIED AWAY by P. Dangelico features a journalist fired for a bad tweet, and an ex-NHL’er who wants nothing to do with the press.

THE DARE by Elle Kennedy is the fourth in her Briar U series, which a spinoff from her Off-Campus series, and this match-up between the ugly duckling dared by her sorocity sisters to seduce the hottest guy on campus, the hot guy on campus who throws her a bone and pretends to be seduced. I bet we all know where this is going..

AIX MARKS THE SPOT by SE Anderson is a French adventure and coming of age story. Frankly, it’s the perfect YA summer read with the cutest vibes.

DESCENDANT OF THE CRANE by Joan He has a paperback release in the UK today. This story is a Chinese-inspired fantasy with royalty and magic.

SOMETHING TO TALK ABOUT by Meryl Wilsner gets its UK release this week and its an f/f slow burn office romance. It hits some great spots, including a cute cover.

JUST FRIENDS by Holly McCulloch is a rom-com about being in the friend zone and trying to date when your friend is always around. This one isn’t out until thursday, June 11, but keep it on your radar and look out for a review from us, too.

NEW RELEASE TUESDAY – JUNE 2, 2020

Happy “where’d all my money go?” new release Tuesday, everyone!

As you know, the most exciting day of the week in this community is the day that follows the one we all dread (Mondays for the nope) and today we’re going to highlight some of the new books chipping away at our bank accounts — but each one is so worth it.

MY CALAMITY JANE is book three in the Lady Janies series by this trio of authors and this retelling/parody/homage (if you’ve read the series, you understand) features the wild west and werewolves! Naturally.

CONVENTIONALLY YOURS by Annabeth Albert is a m/m romance set around, well, a convention. Nerds, fandom, opposites attract.. it’s all here. Review will be up on the blog tomorrow!

Out on June 4, 2020 is THE COURT OF MIRACLES by Kester Grant. A ‘Les Mis’ type of re-imagining, this epic read is fantastic and we have a review coming for it.

A DARK AND STORMY KNIGHT is book seven in Kerrigan Byrne’s Victorian Rebels series and the long-awaited romance for a certain Chief Inspector from Scotland Yard. Hollis remains disappointed this didn’t go in an m/m direction but alas.. she’ll still read it. It’s Byrne after all.
