NEW RELEASE TUESDAY – SEPTEMBER 21, 2021

Happy “where’d all my money go?” new release Tuesday, everyone!

As you know, the most exciting day of the week in this community is the day that follows the one we all dread (Mondays for the nope) and today we’re going to highlight some of the new books chipping away at our bank accounts — but each one is so worth it.

Iron Widow by Xiran Jay Zhao is probably one of the most anticipated books out today but that doesn’t mean much because this whole list is unreal. This book fuses Chinese history with mecha science and is also pitched as Pacific Rim meets The Handmaid’s Tale and, lastly, is amazing.

Under the Whispering Door by TJ Klune continues the anticipated trend with this new release which, despite the cover art, is not connected to The House in the Cerulean Sea. This offering features reapers and grief. Pack the tissues.

Into the Dying Light by Katy Rose Pool is the final instalment in the author’s The Age of Darkness series that promises shattered hearts, fallen cities, and gods on the rise. Can’t wait.

The Bronzed Beasts by Roshani Chokshi is another finale! We don’t want to know anything about this one but we imagine there’s mystery, romance, and more to come.

The Legacy by Elle Kennedy is a collection of four novellas set in the author’s Off-Campus world.

NEW RELEASE TUESDAY – SEPTEMBER 14, 2021

Happy “where’d all my money go?” new release Tuesday, everyone!

As you know, the most exciting day of the week in this community is the day that follows the one we all dread (Mondays for the nope) and today we’re going to highlight some of the new books chipping away at our bank accounts — but each one is so worth it.

The Hollow Heart by Marie Rutkoski is the finale to the story started with The Midnight Lie and after that ending.. oh yeah, this is a need.

White Smoke by Tiffany D. Jackson was pitched as The Haunting of Hill House meets Get Out and, I mean, what more do you want. Also, that cover is stunning.

Empire of the Vampire by Jay Kristoff is “the first illustrated (!) volume of an astonishing new dark fantasy saga.

The Love Hypothesis by Ali Hazelwood is a fake dating romance between two scientists and is getting a lot of hype!

NEW RELEASE TUESDAY – SEPTEMBER 7, 2021

Happy “where’d all my money go?” new release Tuesday, everyone!

As you know, the most exciting day of the week in this community is the day that follows the one we all dread (Mondays for the nope) and today we’re going to highlight some of the new books chipping away at our bank accounts — but each one is so worth it.

The Last Legacy by Adrienne Young is described as ‘a captivating standalone about family and blood ties, reinventing yourself, and controlling your own destiny’.

Portrait of a Scotsman is book three in Evie Dunmore’s A League of Extraordinary Women series. This one matches up Hattie, one of the suffragists, with a ruthless financier and an unexpected wedding? I peeked through my fingers at the summary so that could be wrong. Either way, we are keen!

The Hawthorne Legacy by Jennifer Lynn Barnes is the follow up to The Inheritance Games and, per the first title, might involve a lot more games before this inheritance, and this legacy, reveals all. Looking for a Knives Out-like YA mystery? Look no further!

The Charm Offensive by Alison Cochrun is a queer romance set against a Bachelor-like reality show setting that should definitely be on your radar.

The Devil You Know by Kit Rocha is the second in the author duo’s apocalyptic Mercenary Librarians world.

NEW RELEASE TUESDAY – AUGUST 24, 2021

Happy “where’d all my money go?” new release Tuesday, everyone!

As you know, the most exciting day of the week in this community is the day that follows the one we all dread (Mondays for the nope) and today we’re going to highlight some of the new books chipping away at our bank accounts — but each one is so worth it.

Uncharted by Adriana Anders is the second in this romantic suspense series set in northern, cold regions. The second book did not disappoint Micky and this is a quick, engrossing read.

Bombshell kicks off a new series by Sarah MacLean which has ties to a few of her other works and is, unsurprisingly, “blazingly sexy, unapologetically feminist.” Yes please!

The Second Rebel by Linden A. Lewis picks up a changed set of characters from the end of The First Sister. This is fast-paced, a little complex but worth the investment.

The Women of Troy by Pat Barker follows up Briseis’ narrative now that Troy has fallen. If you liked The Silence of the Girls, this is a sequel you need.

Living Beyond Borders edited by Margarita Longoria is a collection of short stories, essays, poems and comics on what it’s like growing up Mexican American. Bonus points that this is edited by our friend Margie Longoria!

Battle Royal by Lucy Parker is the much anticipated start to a new series by a beloved author. We didn’t care what this was even about, we just wanted it; but knowing it’s an enemies-to-lovers/grumpy sunshine match-up set against a baking competition? Yes, all the yes.

Redemptor by Jordan Ifueko is the second in this West African fantasy duology. It promises to be exciting if Raybearer was anything to go by.

Codirection by Gregory Ashe is the fourth instalment in the author’s Borealis : Without a Compass series which features gay private investigators (or, rather, investigators who happen to be gay). One of us has been devouring the author’s backlist and is hyped to have done so in time for a new release.

Eight Perfect Hours by Lia Louis all starts with a snow-bound motorway and an collision of chemistry. Micky loved this and you’re just going to have to pick it up if you want the details (and you do).

NEW RELEASE TUESDAY – AUGUST 3, 2021

Happy “where’d all my money go?” new release Tuesday, everyone!

As you know, the most exciting day of the week in this community is the day that follows the one we all dread (Mondays for the nope) and today we’re going to highlight some of the new books chipping away at our bank accounts — but each one is so worth it.

Nolyn by Michael J. Sullivan is the start of the Rise and Fall series but set in the same universe as some of his other series. This author’s adult fantasy comes highly recommended so we’re looking forward to giving this a try.

Dark Waters by Katherine Arden is the third book in the author’s middle grade horror series (think Goosebumps series) and boy did it set up something good for the fourth, and final, book. We’ll have a review on the blog so keep an eye out.

If The Shoe Fits by Julie Murphy is the author’s adult release debut. From the blurb it seems to be romcom retelling of Cinderella with a plus sized main character and a focus on self-love. Need!

The Soulmate Equation by Christina Lauren get’s its UK paperback release this week and this step into dating for a single mom sounds like a wonderful premise.

Similarly, Rosaline Palmer Takes The Cake by Alexis Hall also gets a UK paperback release and if you’re a Great British Bake-Off fan, line up for this one with fabulous bisexual rep.

A Lesson in Vengeance by Victoria Lee is a dark twisty thriller and perfectly suited for those looking for more dark academia offerings.

All’s Well by Mona Awad is, “a darkly funny novel about a theatre professor suffering chronic pain who, in the process of staging a troubled production of Shakespeare’s most maligned play, suddenly and miraculously recovers.” We’ll have a review for this one coming this week.

Hope on the Rocks by Annabeth Albert is the long awaited addition to the author’s Rainbow Cove series. This looks to be both an age gap and an opposites attract romance. Looking forward to this!

As Good As Dead by Holly Jackson isn’t out until August 5, 2021, but we are super keen on this third release in the Good Girl’s Guide to Murder series.

Totally Folked by Penny Reid is the first in a new series spinning off from the Winston Brothers world (which is also part of the Knitting in the City world) and this new book tackles Jackson James’ romance.

Isn’t it Bromantic by Lyssa Kay Adams is the fourth in the Bromance Book Club series. Some of us are behind in this series (whoops) but still keen to read on.

False Witness by Karin Slaughter is a standalone thriller from this prolific author and we are excited for this release as it’ll make the wait for the next Will Trent instalment easier to bear.

These Hollow Vows by Lexi Ryan is a fantasy fae tale with lots of twists and turns that should keep you glued to the page.
