Each month, we’ll be putting together a list of our top most anticipated releases; from romance, to sci-fi, to fantasy, and everything in between. These releases might be ones we’re counting down the days for or ones we’ve already read and want you to read (and love!), too.
What you do need to bear in mind is that living on different continents we have different release dates. So as a general rule there might be some repeats from one month to the next.. it’s not that we’re just being weird. Though we can’t dismiss that totally out of turn.
For October, our hotly anticipated titles, in chronological order, are :

THIS GREEN AND PLEASANT LAND by Ayisha Malik is a seredipitous tale of life in an English village when cultures and faith collide. It really did examine the human spirit and emotions. The paperback is out on October 1, 2020.
THE LIVES OF SAINTS by Leigh Bardugo is a book pulled from the pages of her Grishaverse series and features drawn illustrations alongside the tales of miracles and martyrdom. If it’s anything like her LANGUAGE OF THORNS release, this is going to be stunning. Dive back into this popular world on October 6, 2020.
THE INVISIBLE LIFE OF ADDIE LARUE by V.E. Schwab is a story about a young woman, the Devil, and a desperate bargain that leaves her forgotten by the world. But come October 6, 2020, you, too, will know her story. We can’t wait!
IN A HOLIDAZE by Christina Lauren is a Groundhog Day-style holiday story. You can live this day (over and over) on October 6, 2020.
SPOILER ALERT by Olivia Dade is a “delightfully fun romantic comedy set in the world of fanfiction, in which a devoted fan goes on an unexpected date with her celebrity crush, who’s secretly posting fanfiction of his own.” Sounds full of delicious tropes and have you seen that cover? Stunning! This romcom is out in the world on October 6, 2020.
THE TOWER OF NERO by Rick Riordan is the fifth an final book in the Trials of Apollo series.. but also the final in the Half-Blood Chronicles and we just don’t know what to do with that information. Expect much joy but likely much sadness on October 6, 2020.
BROTHERSONG by TJ Klune is the final book in the Green Creek series that so many have been (im)patiently awaiting. You can get your packpackpack on come October 13, 2020.
THE WINTER DUKE by Claire Eliza Bartlett is a beautiful looking YA historical fantasy with Russian historical foundations. This story promises magic, curses, feminism and LGBTQ+ characters. It’s out on October 13, 2020.
THE ONCE AND FUTURE WITCHES by Alix E. Harrow is set in 1893, in New Salem, and it was this part of the summary that grabbed us, “Stalked by shadows and sickness, hunted by forces who will not suffer a witch to vote-and perhaps not even to live-the sisters will need to delve into the oldest magics, draw new alliances, and heal the bond between them if they want to survive. There’s no such thing as witches. But there will be.” Perfect for the Spooky Szn, you can grab this on October 13, 2020.
BLACK SUN by Rebecca Roanhorse is a total cover-drew-me-in title and while the summary didn’t quite wow us, this bit? Intrigued. “Crafted with unforgettable characters, Rebecca Roanhorse has created an epic adventure exploring the decadence of power amidst the weight of history and the struggle of individuals swimming against the confines of society and their broken pasts in the most original series debut of the decade.” Another October 13, 2020, release.
THE DEEP BLUE BETWEEN by Ayesha Harruna Attah is a story of twins caught in a raid which dictates where their future goes. Told historically between West Africa and Brazil, this sounds an interesting read and it releases on October 15, 2020.
THE BOOK OF TWO WAYS by Jodi Picoult sound up Micky’s street, the story of a death doula in a plane crash. Give me this book and give me it now! Okay, I have to wait until October 20, 2020.
CRAZY STUPID BROMANCE by Lyssa Kay Adams is the third instalment in the Bromance Book Club series. Get ready for more shenanigans from these characters as they navigate love and romance with books as their guide. This one is out on October 27, 2020.
A KISS FROM MR FITZGERALD by Natasha Lester (29th) is a Gatsby-esque story set in the roaring 1920’s with Evie who is determined to be one of the first female doctors. She needs to support her career somehow and this story tracks that journey; it releases on October 29, 2020.
